BOOKING
We take full week bookings (Friday to Friday) from mid-March to the end of October, and weekend, midweek and full week bookings from November to mid-March. Winter weekends or midweeks are £710 for either two or three nights, £755 for four nights, £830 for five nights, £895 for six nights or the full week (excluding Christmas, New Year and Half Term weeks).

Check our calendar for availability and prices or view Sally's Cottages for booking details.

To maintain our high standards of service, please note that we cannot negotiate lower rates or shorter stays than advertised.

We will hold provisional telephone or email bookings for a few days and confirm bookings on receipt of a deposit (as shown on the tariff sheet above). Payment in full is to be made four weeks prior to arrival by cheque or bank transfer made payable to "Sally Ltd" (and for cheques, sent to Sally Fielding at Rivendell, Bassenthwaite, Keswick, Cumbria, CA12 4QP). We also require a security deposit of £100 which will be returned to you after your holiday. Please enquire for other forms of payment.

Guests are asked to vacate the cottage by 10.00am on the day of departure and not to arrive before 4.30pm in order to uphold high standards in cleaning and maintenance. We ask that our guests leave the cottage in a clean and orderly condition.

All fuel, power, and bed linen (including duvets, hand and bath towels) are included in the cost - with central heating throughout.

Cancellation Policy: If you need to cancel your holiday, we will return your £100 damage deposit (if it has been sent). We regret that any deposits or rental monies received are non returnable and non transferable. We advise you therefore to take out holiday insurance.

Pets are welcome although without prior arrangment, we can only accept one dog per visit. Please ask if you need to bring more than one dog. Dogs are not allowed in any of the bedrooms and we ask that they don't use the furniture downstairs. Please bring an appropriate dog bed with you. Dogs should not be left unattended in the cottage at any time. Please note that although the property is completely fenced in, there is a working hill farm next door so pets must be kept under close control at all times. If in doubt about your dog, please ask.

  • We advise our clients to take out holiday insurance.
  • The cottage operates a no smoking policy.
  • The road to Gillbank is a fairly steep track. This is a single track that is quite steep in some areas, so proceed slowly and carefully, particularly for sheep or walkers who may be using the road as a footpath. The off-road carpark at the cottage will easily take five or six cars.
